What is the Quickest Way to Lose Weight - A Diet Breakdown
The second question people often ask when looking to lose weight is "what IS the best way to lose weight", the first is "what is the QUICKEST way to lose weight" We've all been there, it's no fun to be walking around carrying more pounds on us than we probably should. While balanced and healthy diet combined with exercise is always the best and safest approach for you bodies overall health, the fact still remains that losing weight quickly is important to people. And so for that reason I am providing you with a quick breakdown of some of the top dieting approaches, how they work, and what you need to know if you are looking to lose weight quickly.
1. Low Carb Diets. Low carb diets can be one of the quickest ways to lose weight. I once lost 25 pounds in a mere 5 weeks with a low carb diet and I was not very heavy to begin with. The low carb diet is based around the idea that if you cut out carbohydrates - your bodies primary source of energy - that once deprived, your metabolism will flip from a carb burning metabolism to a fat burning metabolism. While low carb diets do certainly work, they are also the source of much controversy because the diets typically consist of unusually high amounts of meat and cheese, which raises certain questions about the diets heart healthiness.
2. Macrobiotic Diets. Macrobiotic diets are basically dietary regiments consisting largely of natural and staple foods such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables with the emphasis being on avoiding all processed foods. The macrobiotic diet is a very healthy and beneficial long term diet. While I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a healthier life, it is not necessary the quickest way to lose weight.
3. The Hollywood Diet. The Hollywood diet is a dietary regiment that basically involves drinking nothing but a supposed miracle juice over a 48 hour period. The claim is that you can lose as much as 10 pounds in that short amount of time. I have tried the Hollywood diet and it is true that it is a very quick way to lose weight, however, unfortunately the only significant weight you are losing is water weight. It would be physiologically impossible to lose anywhere near that amount of fat in such a short amount of time.
